Rieslingfeier 2019 NYC - Gala Dinner
Posted on 08 April 2019
Klaus-Peter Keller hosted us at his table for the Gala Dinner...a sit down “Bottle Party” featuring sommeliers from top restaurants in the New York area serving wines from all the participants...guests included. Essentially, this was the Riesling event equivalent of the Burgundian “La Paulée” using the same format where different producers are featured as hosts at individual tables.
Here are a few of the bottles at our we were delighted to sample:
More examples of wines that were featured at our Keller table...although it’s not clear from these photos many wines were served from magnums which are quite rare and enhanced the festive atmosphere of the occasion!
Host Stephen Bitterolf and Mosel vintner Julian Haart
We featured a pair of ultra rare TBAs from the Ludwig Balz Collection...both wines were in pristine condition and were thoroughly enjoyed by all who were fortunate enough to taste them!
Andreas Spreitzer came by with a stunning bottle of 1935 Östricher Lenchen..the evening was full of such rare surprises!
Yet more treasures that floated by as the sommeliers passed from table to table offering countless sips of astounding wines!
Masterful late-harvest Rieslings by two of the greatest masters of the art!
